MOMMY AND I READ TOGETHER
Literacy Program – Our “Mommy and I Read Along” program is designed for mothers, children from 0 to 1st grade, and families who want to connect through our library. This program is scheduled on a monthly basis. Reading can be an essential part of family connections. In support of this belief, we maintain a library of books and continuously seek donations of English and Spanish books. These resources allow us to learn, connect, share, and explore through the written word.
We aim to make reading an accessible and enjoyable activity for families. We strive to ensure that libraries are accessible in our community, and your support can help make our family library a reality.
ANNA MAE GARDEN OF LOVE (Intergenerational Practices)
Nourish, Savor, and Flourish: Our dedication centers around nurturing the soul through communal practices of prayer, mindful eating, and the art of cultivating gardens. We highly esteem the wisdom inherited from our ancestors’ gardens and recipes. As we grow, dine, and learn together, we offer homage to the cultural respect that has been our guide throughout the many seasons of our lives. It’s a time when we actively acquire new culinary and gardening skills, ensuring the passage of our culture to the next generation of guardians.
MOMMY AND CHILDREN CREATIVE H(ART) SERVICES
Explore the transformative power of art and creativity to alleviate daily stressors, diminish anxiety, and foster healing. Engage in activities like painting, crafting, coloring, and doodling to express your thoughts and emotions. At Anna Mae Sonflower Seeds, we are passionate about journaling and sharing knowledge about reflective healing practices as part of our offerings; It helps to water the soul.
HONEYBEES (Teen Group)
We are excited to welcome the young leaders in our community, inviting them to volunteer and support each other as peers. Our mission is to empower these young women, helping them find their voices and become advocates for healthy and responsible relationships. This empowerment ensures that unnecessary distractions do not hinder them from achieving their goals. Within this group, we implement the T-GROW model and provide weekly meals for our participants. The young individuals are equipped with critical thinking skills to make well-informed decisions that lead to the best possible outcomes for themselves and others.
